What stays from the classic style
If you are looking for an old-school MMORPG without the hours of grinding, this is what we kept.
- Four vocations: Warrior, Mage, Archer and Shaman, with two subclasses each.
- Open PvP with skulls outside safe zones: white for 15 minutes, red for 7 days and black for 14 days.
- Loot dropped by monsters and 19 open-world bosses that respawn on their own every 1 to 2 hours.
- Gear that wears out and smiths who repair it for gold, so gold keeps its value.
- 2D pixel art, with our own art and characters.
What we changed
| Classic habit | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| Many hours of grinding to move forward | Dungeons of 15 to 25 minutes that end with a chest: pick 1 of 3 rewards. |
| Looking for a party in chat | Group finder: the F key. |
| Looting corpse by corpse | Auto-loot with the E key. |
| Loot with no clear scale | Ranks D, C, B, A and S that multiply the base: C x1.12, B x1.25, A x1.40 and S x1.60. |
| Fixed skills per class | Talent tree: one point per level, a 3x4 trunk, 4x6 branches, up to 5 active passives and a free first reset. |
| Picking a class forever | Subclass at level 20, with a free swap. |
| Servers that grow old | Seasons: everyone starts the same day. Characters restart and your account keeps titles and cosmetics. |
| Newcomers as prey | Nobody can attack you until level 25, and there is no PvP in dungeons. |
Who it is for
If you played the MMORPGs of the old days and no longer have whole afternoons free, this is the middle ground: the same feel of vocations, gear and skulls, with a session that wraps up in 20 minutes.
If you have never played one, the rules are taught on Sieve Isle, the tutorial for levels 1 to 9.
