# An MMORPG with no pay-to-win, in writing

No. Nothing is sold in the Rift Delve beta: no items, no advantages, no currency. Power is earned by playing and, if a shop ever exists, it will sell cosmetics only. The two beta cosmetics are given away, not sold: Founder at level 20, and Referrals when someone you invited reaches 20.

## What is for sale today

Nothing. During the beta no item, advantage or currency is sold, and items cannot be bought with real money. You get them by playing: from dungeon chests, in the world, in gold shops and on the player market.

## What the written guarantee says

- Power is never for sale.
- If a shop ever exists, it will sell cosmetics only: they change how you look, not how hard you hit.
- If that ever changes, this page and the guarantee text are updated the same day.

## How you progress without paying

- Every item drops with a rank from D to S that multiplies its base (C x1.12, B x1.25, A x1.40, S x1.60), and anyone can find one.
- The boss chest lets you pick 1 of 3 rewards in every dungeon.
- Seasons start on the same day for everyone.
- Nobody can attack you until level 25.

## The two cosmetics of the beta

| Cosmetic | How you get it |
| --- | --- |
| Founder | Given to anyone who plays the beta and reaches level 20. It can only be earned in the beta and is never sold. |
| Referrals | Invite someone with your code. When that person reaches level 20, you get a special cosmetic. |

Neither gives power: they only change how your account looks.

## What each season keeps

When a season ends, characters, items, gold and skulls start over for everyone. Your account, account cosmetics (like Founder) and titles are kept.

### Can I buy gold or items with real money?

No. Nothing is sold in the beta, and items are earned by playing.

### Will there be a shop?

Maybe later. If there is, it will sell cosmetics only, nothing that gives power. And this page is updated the same day as any change to the guarantee.

### Do the Founder and Referral cosmetics give an advantage?

No. They are cosmetics only, they are given away, and there is no way to buy them.
